Tax Should be a Life-Neutral Event

Monday Mar 31, 2008

Years ago, the partner at the law firm where I worked at the time approached me about working on a presentation for a major client. The client had significant business and personal holdings and was looking to do both income and estate tax planning.

We prepared for this meeting for about two weeks and came up with a plan that would address all of his concerns. Part of our plan involved getting his children more involved in his business (which he claimed he wanted) and we also suggested a gifting program to donate significant pieces of his impressive art collection to a local museum (which he also claimed he wanted).

21st Century Academy Wealth Vision

Thursday Mar 27, 2008

When I flew to Sydney to catch up with Jamie McIntyre recently, I filmed the Wealth Vision videos for 21st Century Academy. They contain commentary by Jamie where he runs you through his ebook, chapter by chapter. First you download the ebook, then you receive the online video links to see and hear Jamie McIntyre explain what the book is about.

Road to Financial Freedom

These Wealth Vision Videos have been very popular. The fact that they are free certainly helps. This is about the very book that I read 3 years ago that got me started on the Road to Financial Freedom. I’m 3 years down the road, I’m developing a Millionaire Mindset and a lot closer now than I ever dared to dream about in the past. I’m hoping the Wealth Vision Videos will speed up the likely hood of others taking the same action that I did 3 years ago. You don’t have to become a full time investor to do these things. Learn at your own pace. Read the book and watch the videos.

Sandy’s Great Graphic Tips: Why Use Graphics?

Wednesday Mar 26, 2008

What Does Learning Style Have To Do With Graphics?

We each have a different learning style. The three basic styles are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (VAK). Approximately 60-70% (depending on the source) of the general population are predominantly visual learners. They need visual aids to fully grasp a concept or idea.

Graphics are a huge reason people flock to the web. Humans are generally more receptive to things we see compared to things we hear. That means a well-placed graphic on your post can make a world of difference to their experience.

Have Federal Tax Charges Made Fumo An Angry Man?

Monday Mar 24, 2008

Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent J. Fumo is facing charges on 139 indictments including 2 counts each of filing false tax returns and aiding and assisting in the filing of false tax returns. Gilbert Coleman, Jr., senior pastor of Freedom Christian Bible Fellowship in Philadelphia, believes that those charges have made Fumo an angry man.

Gilbert was responding to a stunning turn of events that are leading up to Fumo’s last days in office. Fumo is retiring at the end of this year in order to address the federal charges being brought against him.

The Devil, Er, IRS, to Pay

Sunday Mar 23, 2008

In part of its efforts to get more money faster be more tax-payer friendly, the IRS has finally brought its Installment Plan Agreement online.

The OIA is not to be confused with the OIC, the Offer in Compromise, which allows you to apply to reduce the total amount of tax due either because it is not your debt or because you cannot pay. The OIA is a mechanism that allows you to pay the total amount of tax due (including any applicable interest and penalties) over a timeframe agreeable to the IRS.

WTF? T-rati Monster Diggs Up a New Feature!!

Saturday Mar 22, 2008

I Know What You’re Thinking

Maybe you caught it. Last night at about 9:40pm CST — that’s Chicago time — if you went to visit Technorati, you would have seen a white screen with words that said something like this

Doh! The Technorati monster has escaped again! We’ve gone to find him. We’ll be back in no time. (I’m remembering as best as I can.)

Shortly thereafter, when service returned, a smiling Dave Sifry announced on his own blog and on the official Technorati WTF page a new Technorati feature by saying,
